When you successfully complete this pre-apprenticeship you'll be equipped to start your career as an apprentice solid plasterer. This course is delivered as part of a dual qualification.
This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs(opens in a new tab) for more information.

Get a great start in the building industry with this solid plastering course
Solid plastering is an essential finishing trade in the construction industry. Solid plasterers apply decorative and protective plaster and cement finishes to the interiors and exteriors of buildings, helping create durable, high-quality surfaces.
This pre-apprenticeship will equip you with the practical skills, knowledge and workplace behaviours employers look for in an apprentice solid plasterer. Build your confidence, gain valuable industry experience and improve your chances of securing an apprenticeship, giving you a strong foundation for a career in the building industry.
This course is delivered as part of a dual qualification, combining the Certificate II in Building and Construction (Pathway – Trades) (Solid Plastering Pre-apprenticeship) with the Certificate II in Building and Construction (Pathway – Trades) (Wall and Ceiling Lining Pre-apprenticeship). Gain practical skills and experience across two construction trades, broadening your skills and career opportunities as you prepare for an apprenticeship.
Students will graduate with two certificates and also gain their White Card by completing CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry.
- Apply plaster finishes to walls and ceilings.
- Read and interpret construction plans.
- Measure and calculate material requirements for each job.
- Work safely with scaffolding and at heights.
- Apply workplace health and safety practices on construction sites.
