How Apprenticeship

Do you want a career in a trade that has everything covered?

The Certificate III in Solid Plastering provides the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified tradesperson working across the residential and commercial construction industries. Through this qualification, apprentices develop expertise in applying a wide range of plastering systems and finishes while meeting industry standards for quality, safety, and workmanship.

As a qualified solid plasterer, you will play a vital role in creating the finished surfaces that define the quality, appearance, and durability of a building. Solid plasterers apply finishes to walls, ceilings, floors (including microcement finishes), and architectural features across projects ranging from modern residential developments to heritage restorations. As construction methods and materials continue to evolve, plasterers are increasingly working with modern systems such as Exsulite cladding and decorative finishes including microcement and Venetian plaster.

Their work is essential to the success of carpenters, cabinet makers, tilers, painters, plumbers, and ceiling fixers, providing straight, level, flat, and square surfaces that enable accurate and efficient installation. As one of the most visible elements of a completed building, quality plastering requires careful preparation and expertise in material selection and application, making a significant contribution to a building's functionality, appearance, and long-term performance.

The Certificate III in Solid Plastering is an apprenticeship; please see the Apprenticeships section for more information.
