Koomba Birdal - AUR20520 Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology (Light Vehicle Servicing Pre-apprenticeship)

Overview

This course is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates looking to start a career in Automotive.

As a pre-apprentice you will learn how to work in a Mechanical Workshop, use hand and power tools, work on engines, and change tyres.

During the course you will learn the basics of light vehicle mechanics and gain these skills:

  • Carry out servicing operations
  • Inspect and service engines and steering and suspension systems
  • Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
  • Apply basic automotive troubleshooting processes

Fees 

Our Enhanced Aboriginal Engagement Team (EAE) will provide indicative fees upon receiving your expression of interest. 

Entry requirements 

17 years old and above at the start of the program.

Important dates

  • Applications close 30 June 2025
  • Term 21 July to 11 December 2025
  • Classes Monday to Wednesday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm and Thursday 8:30 pm – 1:00 pm 

Extra information 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required. You will have access to an Indigenous Mentor and Indigenous Career Advisor during and after the program.
