There are no specific requirements for entry into these units although students need to have a general knowledge of ceramic processes and methods of making.

On Campus

This course runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 2.5 hours each night, for 17 weeks. You will need to attend both sessions weekly.

Next intake is Semester 1, 2025.

This course may not lead to a specific job outcome, but if you are a self-practicing artist or a teacher -  this skill set will enhance your skills and if you are a technician working in the field of ceramics will give you formal qualifications in glazing techniques.

• CUACER512 Investigate ceramic materials and processes
• CUACER515 Develop and apply ceramic glazes

In the studio unit, students will mainly be making objects to test glazes on. Objects such as: tiles and small bowls and cylinders.
For the laboratory unit, students will need to be able to do simple mathematic calculations, measure weights accurately and keep records.
