Get a great foundation for a bricklaying apprenticeship
Complete this pre-apprenticeship and become exactly what employers are looking for in an apprentice bricklayer/blocklayer. This course is designed to provide you with the essential skills needed to construct brick and block walls, giving you a competitive edge in securing an apprenticeship and a strong start in the trade.
You’ll gain practical experience in using bricklaying tools and equipment, as well as learn how to mix, place, and finish concrete, set up and operate a cement mixer, and safely erect, use, and dismantle scaffolding.
By the end of this course, you’ll have the hands-on experience that will enhance your chances of securing an apprenticeship and building a successful career in the trades.
- How to mix, place and finish concrete
- Setting up a cement mixer to produce mortar mixes
- Erect, use and dismantle scaffolding
- Reading and interpreting plans
- Basic levelling procedures using various levelling devices
- Measuring and calculating the required materials for specific jobs
