This course is designed to give you the foundation skills and knowledge needed within the conservation and ecosystem management industry, to enter the work force in either private, local or state government sectors.
As part of this course you will undertake three units that have been designed to meet the Department of Health requirements to gain a Pest Management Technician Licence to control weeds and other minor pests in lawns and gardens, landscaping, bushland or minesite rehabilitation.
All of our classes have extensive resources and are run by highly experienced lecturers.
Please note, that you will be enrolled in a dual qualification which includes Certificate III Conservation and Ecosystem Management students and Certificate III Horticulture. Upon successful completion, students will receive both qualifications. Additional details will be provided during Orientation.
This qualification allows you to develop trade level skills and knowledge across a broad of subjects including:
- Maintain native ecosystem area
- Implement biodiversity monitoring plan
- Control weeds, pests, diseases and disorders
- Work health and safety
- Identifying plant specimens
- Implement a propagation plan
