How On campus
This is an exciting new skill set focused on public art and murals. Students will engage in hands-on projects that culminate in the actual creation of a mural. This practical component ensures that students not only learn the theoretical aspects of mural design but also gain essential experience in executing large-scale artworks. Throughout this course, students will be guided through every stage of mural production, from initial design to final implementation, fostering their ability to manage real-world projects effectively.
This course is designed to cover all facets of mural creation, including design planning, budgeting, developing proposals, creating prototypes, and selecting appropriate surfaces and paint types. Students will learn how to make their murals graffiti-proof and understand the complexities of copyright and moral rights. The course also covers the legal aspects of public art, such as contract negotiation, giving students the skills needed to manage and protect their work. This well-rounded approach equips students with the practical and legal knowledge required to succeed as mural artists in the dynamic field of public art.
