This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs(opens in a new tab) for more information.

Technical training to help you become a registered open cabler

This skill set will provide you with the necessary training to become a registered open cabler, as required by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to work on the customer telecommunications network. It’s designed for individuals wanting to work in telecommunication cabling and obtain ACMA 'Open' Cabling Provider Registration with a structured cabling endorsement. 

You’ll gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to install and modify performance data communication structured cabling. This training meets the minimum ACMA requirements for network safety, integrity, and interoperability, ensuring you're equipped to handle customer equipment and standard telephone services safely and effectively.
