The perfect qualification to get you started in the Dental Technology profession
As a Dental Technician, you will work in a dental laboratory, or within dental practices. During your day you will focus on the creation, modification, and repair of various appliances or restorations, which move, replace or repair teeth based on the prescription of Dentists, Specialist and Prosthetists.
This qualification is an apprenticeship so you will need be employed as an apprentice in a Dental Laboratory; please see the Apprenticeships section for more information.
During the course you will have the opportunity to meet other apprentices when attending our newly fitted out facilities at our Leederville campus.
This qualification provides you with skills and knowledge to:
- Communicate effectively
- Implement infection control
- Monitor work health and safety
- Use specialised dental CAD/CAM software
- Construct crowns and bridges, orthodontic appliances, oral splints and acrylic and metal dentures
