Power Up Your Future with Confidence
Our Electrical Refresher Program is designed to help you review the key topics from the electrical apprenticeship program - refreshing the knowledge and skills essential for success in your Capstone assessment and on the job.
This 3-day course is ideal if you're an apprentice nearing the end of your training, a skilled migrant close to completing gap training, or someone returning to the Australian electrical industry after time away.
This course refreshes your core electrical skills and guides you through key practical and theoretical topics, including:
- Navigating AS/NZS 3008 & Cable Selection
Learn to use AS/NZS 3008 to select appropriate cable sizes for different installation types and conditions, including applying de-rating tables effectively. - Maximum Demand Calculations
Refresh your skills in calculating Maximum Demand for consumer mains and sub-mains using the Maximum Demand Calculation Table. - Voltage Drop Calculations
Perform voltage drop checks on final subcircuits under a variety of installation scenarios. - Cable Selection Based on Fault Loop Impedance
Calculate circuit lengths, fault loop impedance, and voltage drop, including completing L Max calculations for safe and compliant installations. - Design Tasks: Single & Three-Phase Installations
Practice voltage drop and cable design using V90 TPS cables for 230V single-phase and three-phase domestic installations. - Verification & Testing of Single-Phase Installations
Complete inspection tasks and test sheets, identify faults, and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance and safety. - Earth Fault Loop Impedance (Zs) & RCD/RCBO Verification
Verify that RCDs and RCBOs meet regulatory requirements, measure Zs values, and accurately complete verification documentation. - Practical Installation Refresher
Design, install, and verify a multiphase domestic installation, including a three-phase main switchboard and a single-phase sub-board with final subcircuits.
