In this course, you’ll develop capability in peripheral intravenous cannulation and key nursing practices in respiratory, cardiovascular and diabetes care, with a strong focus on perioperative nursing. You’ll gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to support patients undergoing surgery, including safe and effective intravenous cannulation.

The skills you gain can improve your employment or promotion prospects if you’re working in, or looking to move into this specialised practice area.

Learning is delivered through self-directed online study combined with workplace practice and observation. Successfully completing the units in this skill set may contribute towards the Advanced Diploma of Nursing or support your pathway to a Bachelor of Nursing to become a registered nurse at university.
