Delivered at our new Logistics Training Centre in Hazelmere, this course is ideal for people looking to start a career in the road transport industry or update their skills to meet new job requirements.

It’s a great option if you are:

  • Getting ready for your first truck driving job
  • Looking to meet employer or regulatory requirements
  • Working towards your HR or other heavy vehicle licence classes
  • Already in the industry and need to update your skills for new job requirements

You will gain the practical skills and knowledge to safely operate and manoeuvre heavy vehicles, manage loads, follow fatigue and safety regulations, and carry out inspections to help you build confidence whether you’re starting a career or already working in the transport industry.

  • Safely operate and manoeuvre heavy vehicles in a range of road and traffic conditions.
  • Secure, check, and manage loads to meet safety and stability requirements.
  • Apply fatigue management practices and follow work/rest requirements.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections, identify defects, and maintain roadworthiness standards.
  • Follow safe work practices and comply with transport industry safety regulations.
  • Hold a current C Class driver’s licence.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old to meet training and licensing requirements.
  • Physical ability to climb into vehicles, secure loads, and operate equipment safely.
  • Ability to stay alert to traffic, road conditions, hazards, and blind spots.
  • Ability to follow instructions, complete paperwork, and communicate professionally.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read safety information, complete logbooks, and follow procedures.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
