Develop your skills, starting with the science of etching image to stone through to printing a small edition of black and white prints. Prior knowledge and experience in printmaking is essential to be able to enrol in this course.

Overview

When Semester 2, 2026

How On campus

Expand your printmaking techniques by gaining knowledge in stone lithography

You'll learn about the traditional processes of stone lithography, exploring drawing and learning how to mark directly onto stone
The science of etching image to stone before printing a small edition of black and white prints will be covered during this skill set.
You'll be encouraged to have a second (alternative) print project, such as woodblock or etching, to work on while in between stages of processing and printing your stone. 

You'll have access to a lithography studio to complete your work.

  • you will need to complete a range of assessment tasks, including written tasks and documentation of practical components in order to successfully complete the skill set.
  • we will be able to accommodate a maximum of 10 participants.
