Learn to play with humble materials such as cardboard and investigate a series of joining techniques to create a 3D object and learn to safely use wood and metal work machinery and tools. This course is suitable for beginners through to advanced practitioners, schoolteachers or art technicians.

Bring life to your sculptural designs
In this skill set you will learn to play with materials to bring to life to your own sculptural designs. You'll start with humble materials such as cardboard and investigate a series of joining techniques to create a 3D object beyond the reliance on hot glue.
You will complete a WHS unit to induct you into the sculpture workshop at NMT- creating a safe awareness of wood and metal work machinery and tools.
This course is suitable for beginners through to advanced practitioners, schoolteachers or art technicians.

- Working independently under supervision in the woodwork and metalwork studio.
- Realising 2D ideas into 3D with a range of materials.
This skill set has a series of assessable components and it will be necessary for you to have access to a computer to compile and upload these assessments.
If you don’t have access to a computer and WiFi at home, we recommend using our library computers during library hours.
