Take the next step in your electrical or electronics career and make sure you’re fully compliant and job ready.

If you're a qualified electrician or electronics technician looking to install, modify or verify coaxial and structured copper cabling, this Skill Set is for you.

Designed to meet the requirements of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), this training gives you the skills and knowledge to work on cabling systems in buildings and premises connected to a telecommunications network.

If you didn’t complete the Open Cablers Licence as part of your original qualification, this is your pathway to get licensed using UEE units you may have already completed in the past 10 years. This can significantly reduce the time it takes to meet licensing requirements.

Once complete, you'll be eligible to apply for the Open Cablers Licence with Structured and Coaxial Cabling Endorsements, a must-have for anyone working with performance data cabling systems.

  • Install and terminate structured (data) cabling
  • Install and terminate coaxial cabling
  • Test and verify cabling for performance and safety
  • Follow ACMA rules and cabling standards
  • Read and understand cabling plans and layouts
  • Work safely with tools and equipment
  • Label and document cabling correctly

I have the following attributes:

  • You are a qualified electrician or electronics technician
  • You are physically capable of meeting the demands of working in the cabling and electrical industry
