In this hands-on course, you will explore the creative possibilities of printmaking on clay. Learn how to transform your own 2D designs into screen-printed tissue transfers, and paper mono prints, ready to apply to your ceramic pieces.
Surface Decoration and Printmaking on Clay is suitable for beginners and experienced art practitioners alike. Whether you are a school leaver, art teacher, art technician or a hobbyist looking for something different, creative and fun, this course is for you.
- Designing original 2D artworks suitable for screen printing on clay
- Applying designs to silk screens using photo emulsion
- Exploring a range of papers and materials for creating ceramic transfer prints
- Mixing and producing custom ceramic screen‑printing inks
- Producing paper transfers using their own original artwork
- Creating monoprint paper transfers
- Applying printed transfers to both 2D and 3D clay surfaces
