Chance's Traineeship Success

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

13 February 2026

Chance began his NMTAFE journey in 2024, successfully completing a Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology. After initially trying his hand at bricklaying, Chance’s sports background in taekwondo, rugby, football and basketball led him to enrol in the dual Diploma in Sport and Leadership & Management. During his study, he was the successful applicant for a sports and recreation traineeship which he is currently completing.

As a proud Noongar man, Chance credits his Koolark mentors in championing his success. Although taking on a Diploma level qualification was challenging, the support and motivation from the team to succeed made his study journey even more rewarding.

“I know that being a positive role model makes all the difference to young people, because it made all the difference to me,” he said.

Chance’s studies at NMTAFE are helping him reach his goals of becoming a mentor himself and working with youth. His traineeship means he is already on his way to achieving his dream! We can’t wait to see what you do next, Chance.
