Last Friday, our East Perth campus became a hub of energy and connection with community as it hosted the Deadly Jobs Expo 2025 in collaboration with the Department of Training and Workforce Development.
The expo welcomed hundreds of attendees eager to explore employment, education and training opportunities from a variety of exhibitors. The expo featured over 60 exhibitors, including major employers like Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Main Roads WA, and St John of God Health Care, alongside universities such as Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and UWA.
Attendees had the chance to speak directly with representatives, ask questions and gain insights into various industries, such as healthcare, government, tourism and sport.
The Koolark Centre(opens in a new tab) for Aboriginal students and NMTAFE’s Jobs and Skills Centre staff were on hand to provide career advice, helping job seekers navigate their options and plan their next steps.
Staff were also on hand to talk about our Koomba Birdal Program(opens in a new tab) which aims to increase employment and/or further education options with opportunities for Aboriginal and Torress Strait Islanders.
Beyond career connections, the expo celebrated Aboriginal culture and entrepreneurship. Market stalls showcased local Aboriginal businesses, selling art, fashion, food and handcrafted goods.
