North Metropolitan TAFE’s Perth campus was a hive of activity this month as First Nations artists from across Western Australia (WA) gathered for a series of creative workshops as part of Revealed 2025.
Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists is an annual celebration of Aboriginal arts and culture delivered under the custodianship of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia (AACHWA) – the peak advocacy and resource body for Aboriginal art centres in the state.
Artists from over 20 Aboriginal art centres, representing the Kimberley, Pilbara, Western Desert, Mid-West and South-West, congregated in Perth to expand their creative talents through Revealed’s accompanying professional development program.
The workshops offered hands-on training in diverse art mediums, including jewellery making, screen printing, ceramics, video reels, product design and letterpress.
These sessions provided a platform for learning, collaboration and innovation, enabling participants to refine their artistic practices and explore new forms of expression.
Following the professional development program, Revealed launched on Friday 11 April with the opening of the Revealed Exhibition at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts. While thousands flocked to purchase artworks direct from art centres and artists at the Revealed Aboriginal Art Market held in the forecourt of WA Museum Boola Bardip for the first time on Saturday 12 April. Artworks are also available for purchase at the Exhibition until it closes on 15 June.
Revealed exemplifies the richness and vibrancy of Aboriginal arts and culture, showcasing the talent and diversity of communities across WA.
