Starting on 10 December, the Federal Government will introduce new social media restrictions aimed at protecting young people online.
Under these changes, Australians under the age of 16 will no longer be able to create or maintain accounts on various social media platforms.
To encourage young voices to be heard, the Commissioner for Children and Young People has launched the DigiMe Voices campaign — a creative and anonymous way for those affected to share their thoughts.
Through DigiMe Voices, young Australians can:
- design a digital avatar that represents them;
- post their views on the restrictions directly to the Commissioner’s webpage; and
- join the conversation and see what others are saying.
This initiative offers a meaningful opportunity for individuals aged 15 and under to express their opinions and help shape the future of online safety.
