Walking together for Reconciliation

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

3 November 2026

Around 80 North Metropolitan TAFE staff came together at Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park) on Thursday 22 October, to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and show their support for reconciliation at the 2026 Walk for Reconciliation.

Set against the beautiful surrounds of Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park), the annual event brought people together under this year’s theme, ALL IN, a call to action reminding us that reconciliation is a shared journey, and one we all have a role to play in shaping.

The walk was a wonderful opportunity to stand together in support of the living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while celebrating the importance of respect, understanding and connection.

The event created space to listen and learn from one another.

At NMTAFE, we’re proud to be part of a community committed to fostering meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Events like the Walk for Reconciliation help bring that commitment to life, encouraging us to reflect on how we can contribute to an inclusive future.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and proudly represented the College.

Together, we’re ALL IN as we continue the journey towards reconciliation.
