To undertake this Specialist Air Conditioning Skill Set, you must hold one of the 10 approved qualifications listed on the Qualification page and be currently working in the automotive industry.

Please ensure any supporting evidence clearly shows the unit details from your qualification.

Acceptable proof of eligibility for free training for residents of Western Australia (and some temporary visa holders as above) may include a drivers licence, or other government document such as a passport.

  • Completion of a tertiary education (degree or higher) where the language of instruction was English OR
  • English proficiency comparable or greater than NAATI’s requirements.

Cert IV Training and Assessment / Skill sets requirements

This skill set requires you to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed training and assessing area. Vocational competency means having the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to work effectively in a particular industry or profession, preferably supported by a relevant qualification or trade certificate.

You will also need a certain level of digital literacy and equipment including:

  • Access to a computer or laptop
  • Reliable broadband Internet access
  • Skills and computer to be able to edit word documents (.docx)
  • Access to a video recording device (including sound) with the capability to transfer to a computer (e.g. iPhone or similar smartphone)

To apply for this course, you will need to include the following documentation:

  • Your CV
  • A letter of support from your employer detailing:
    • They are aware of and support your studies.
    • Validation of your industry skills, knowledge, and experience
    • They will support you to ensure they are not breaching any privacy or workplace processes
    • Any other relevant information to support your application
  • Any current qualifications relevant to your industry area (in English and proof of equivalence in Australia must be provided if the qualifications were not obtained in Australia)

Artificial Intelligence Skill Set

It is recommended that you have one of the following:

  • Two years full-time experience in a programming or data related field;
  • ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Programming), or equivalent;
  • Degree or partially completed degree in Information Technology from a higher educational institution.
