Are you keen to work in construction working with timber?

Carpenters and joiners build, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures using timber, plywood, wallboard and other materials. You’ll cut, shape and fit timber components to create a variety of structures and fittings.

By completing this pre-apprenticeship, you’ll gain the skills and hands-on experience employers are looking for in an apprentice carpenter and joiner. Give yourself the best chance of securing an apprenticeship and get a head start in your trade career.

  • Using manual and power tools
  • Constructing wall frames
  • Installing flooring
  • Interpreting plans
  • How to measure and calculate materials
  • Working with scaffolding
