This course will prepare you to work in construction installing drainage systems. Gain skills including the use of hand and power tools, and oxy-acetylene and arc welding at our major training centre at Balga.

This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs(opens in a new tab) for more information.

Build your future with hands-on skills in drainage

You will gain the practical skills and industry knowledge required to work effectively in the construction sector. This includes learning how to install a range of drainage systems in accordance with plans and specifications, interpret construction drawings, and accurately calculate materials and quantities for various projects. 

You’ll also develop hands-on skills in essential tasks such as concreting and rendering, while building a strong understanding of workplace health and safety standards to ensure safe and compliant work practices on site.

Our Balga Campus is a major centre in WA for training in the building and construction industries, with purpose-built workshops, up-to-date equipment, and lecturers who maintain close links with industry.

The Certificate II in Drainage is a traineeship; please see the Apprenticeships and traineeships section for more information.
