This course equips you with the practical expertise to work in nurseries, parks and gardens. You could gain a triple qualification at the same time, completing the Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and the Certificate II in Landscaping as well as the Certificate II in Horticulture.

This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs(opens in a new tab) for more information.

No prior experience is required, making this a perfect opportunity, especially if you're currently unemployed or seeking a new path in the industry.

This qualification will equip you with the knowledge and hands-on experience to secure a role in the horticulture industry, including opportunities in nurseries, parks, garden centres, landscaping, and local councils.

Boost your career prospects - complete one additional unit and you can achieve a triple qualification giving you: 

  • Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, 
  • Certificate II in Landscaping and 
  • Certificate II in Horticulture.

This qualification will allow you to develop a broad range of trade level skills and knowledge, including:

  • Employ sustainable work practices,
  • Identify plants,
  • Treat weeds, plant pests, diseases and disorders
  • Plant trees and shrubs
  • Assist with landscape construction work such as low-profile timber or modular retaining wall, install aggregate paths
  • Operate basic machinery and equipment
