This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs(opens in a new tab) for more information.

Pursue your career in a wide range of engineering fields

This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge, including  workshop and measurement skills, to allow you to produce drawings for manufacture. Learn how to use and operate computer-aided design (CAD) to create drawings. In addition you will work in teams to produce projects. 

On successful completion of this course you may be able to work in a number of different engineering related industries including mining and mineral processing, manufacturing, oil and gas and automotive.

Or you may choose to complete an additional 6 months further study, to gain the Diploma of Engineering - Technical (Drafting). Please note this course will be delivered in specialised classrooms across both the East Perth and Perth campuses.
