Integrated technology is the coming together of various technologies that were previously stand alone, into new and innovative applications. Graduates of this course will be able to seek employment as Robotic Technicians.

This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Get involved in the industries of the future

The impact of the application of integrated technologies is being increasingly felt within a range of industry areas such as mining, engineering, electrical, electronic, information technology and manufacturing industries. The technology used by these industries range from traditional electronics, hardware platform, networking automation, fibre internet connectivity.

Technicians who work in Industry 4.0 sectors are required to be skilled in multiple disciplines.

To be able to competently repair and maintain equipment you will need knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Networking - Including both wireless and cabled networks that incorporates the principles of cyber security
  • Data Collection and Predictive Analysis
  • Mechatronics - You'll have to have an understanding of the equipment that is used in the automatic processing and manufacture of products
  • Auto control - You should be able to repair and maintain automatic control systems whether they are physical devices on site or controlled online
  • Robotics - You will need to be able to program and repair robotic equipment

Graduates of the course will be able to seek employment as service technicians capable of operating, installing and repairing a wide variety of equipment and includes the “Industrial Internet of Things” (IIoT).

Hands-on skills in an integrated technology environment, covering:

  • Installation and setup of integrated technology applications
  • Industry-based maintenance practices
  • Fault diagnosis and effective rectification techniques

  • Can use, repair and maintain machines

Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of or interest in

  • electrical principles - Ohms law etc
  • electronic components - digital and analogue
  • IT/OT networks - Ethernet, subnetting etc
  • mechanical systems - motors, pneumatics etc
  • radio communications - telemetry, wireless comms
  • interfacing - making devices talk to each other
  • coding - for controller logic
