Celebrating our Women in Trades scholarship recipients

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

6 October 2026

Students, staff, industry partners, employers and mentors came together at our Balga campus for a special morning tea celebrating this year’s Women in Trades Scholarship recipients.

The event recognised an inspiring group of women who are breaking down barriers, and pursuing careers in industries where women have traditionally been underrepresented.

Guests gathered to acknowledge the recipients’ achievements to date and celebrate the exciting opportunities ahead. Trades represented at the event included construction, engineering, automotive, energy and mining.

The Women in Trades Scholarship program, a State Government initiative, provides more than financial assistance. It also offers valuable mentoring opportunities and industry connections, helping recipients build the confidence, skills and professional networks needed to succeed in their chosen careers.

A highlight of the morning was recognising the dedication and passion of the scholarship recipients, as well as the lecturers, employers and apprenticeship hosts who are playing a vital role in creating more diverse and inclusive workplaces across Western Australia.

We congratulate all our Women in Trades Scholarship recipients and wish them every success as they embark on their careers in the trades industry.

Build your future your way and break into your dream career! Applications for the next round of Women in Trades scholarships will open next year.

Applications to study with us in Semester 1, 2027 are open now!
