Meet Carolina Doyle, a 2026 Women in Trades Scholarship recipient who is pursuing a career in the wall and ceiling lining industry. Read about her journey into the trades and why she hopes to inspire more women to consider a career in the industry.
My name is Carolina Doyle, I'm 26 years old and the course I am studying is a Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining(opens in a new tab) .
I am completing my apprenticeship with a business called RA Walls and Ceilings.
I've been working in agriculture for about the last six years while I was living in the central wheatbelt and have always loved challenging myself doing hands-on work.
One day I would love to live in a rural town again and even do a lap of Australia, which I know having this trades qualification behind me will be a massive benefit.
I was lucky enough to be selected as a 2026 Women in Trades Scholarship recipient. I am super grateful for the scholarship and the chance to get more women working in trades.
I went to a private all-girls school and unfortunately doing a trade wasn't something that was offered or spoken about when I was at school so I am hoping that changes too.
