When you complete the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) – Electrotechnology Pre-Apprenticeship, you'll gain essential health and safety knowledge, hands-on electrical skills, the ability to identify components and materials, strong problem-solving abilities, and practical job-ready experience - making you exactly what employers are looking for in an apprentice in the electrical, instrumentation, or electrical servicing trades.

  • Develop strong Health and Safety knowledge and practices.
  • Build practical electrical work skills and experience in energy sector activities.
  • Identify and understand electrical components and materials.
  • Strengthen problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Enhance employability with practical, job-ready skills.
In line with the Department of Education's Alternatives to full-time schooling policy, to study this course starting in:
  • Semester 1 - you need to have turned 15 years old by January 31.
  • Semester 2 - you need to have turned 15 years old by June 30.

We also recommend you have the following attributes:

  • good communication skills
  • ability to read and comprehend English
  • willing to learn how to safely use tools
  • an aptitude for problem solving
