Build secure, practical AI integrations for the real world
Discover how you can connect artificial intelligence (AI) with the software and business systems you already use. In this course, you’ll explore the fundamentals of AI integration and learn how AI can be used to streamline processes, improve productivity, support decision-making and create new opportunities for innovation. You’ll examine the opportunities, challenges and practical considerations involved in introducing AI into existing business environments.
You’ll gain hands-on experience working with Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) and learn how AI can securely interact with external tools, applications and data sources. You’ll develop the skills to design, test and implement AI integrations, while considering reliability, performance, security and responsible use. You’ll also explore the risks associated with connecting AI to business systems and learn how to protect sensitive business data, confidential information and intellectual property.
Throughout the course, you’ll apply your knowledge to a practical AI project, taking you from identifying an integration opportunity through to designing, testing and developing a working solution. By the end of the course, you’ll have a stronger understanding of how to successfully integrate AI into real-world business systems, along with practical experience and a project you can take with you and continue to develop beyond the course.

- Python scripting
- Object-oriented programming (OOP) in Python
- Basic programming concepts
- Working with and modifying existing code
These skills are recommended but not essential. No prior experience with AI integration or Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) is required, as these concepts will be introduced and explored throughout the course.
