Overview

Campus Perth

When Semester 1, 2026 | Semester 2, 2026

How On campus

Design and build what users actually see. Ship real websites. Go full-stack.

Master the front-end of modern web development — UX, UI, responsive design, and the frameworks employers actually use. Work on live client projects and add a dual qualification with Back End Web Development to become full-stack in just two semesters.

Every digital product lives or dies on its front-end experience. This diploma takes you through the full development lifecycle — from concept and client engagement through to documentation, design, coding, testing, and user training. You’ll work with frameworks, WordPress, and SASS, and build real client solutions through LiveWorks projects, finishing industry-ready.

The Perth campus also offers a dual-qualification option combining this course with Back End Web Development, allowing you to graduate as full-stack capable in two semesters.

What you will build

  • Real client websites delivered through live, industry-connected projects
  • Advanced UX and UI design skills built around real users
  • Working fluency with frameworks, WordPress and SASS
  • Advanced digital graphics and front-end engineering skills
  • Project management, client communication and team-based delivery experience

New students who have not studied the course that precedes this qualification should contact the area to ensure they apply for the correct level of study.

  • Advanced problem solving and research skills
  • Advanced digital graphics
  • Frameworks, WordPress, SASS software
  • UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) design

I have the following attributes:

  • Sound underpinning knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SQL, responsive web design and Search Engine Optimisation
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Aptitude for design
  • Interested in developing knowledge of computer programming languages
  • Happy to keep up to date with new web technologies and trends

I have attended the end of year graduations of students from North Metropolitan TAFE for the Certificate IV in Programming, Cert IV in Web Based Technologies, Diploma of Software Development and Diploma of Website Development. As part of the experience, I see their end of year projects demonstrated and have the opportunity to question them on what they have built and the extent of their knowledge. Those students are Industry ready. I have attended for at least the past four years, probably longer, and continue to be impressed with what I see. The courses get stronger each year, and the students graduating have a lot to offer.
