If you have good maths skills, enjoy using computers and machinery, are handy at problem solving and want to be a part of an exciting industry that makes things work, our Mechanical Engineering qualifications are perfect for you.

You will gain skills in computer aided drafting (CAD), so you can interpret and create drawings, which you can then use to manufacture equipment using workshop machinery. You will learn about fluid power to set up and connect hydraulic equipment, and develop skills in machinery and mechanical equipment development and maintenance. You will also gain the necessary knowledge to write technical documents and be given the opportunity to work on real projects involving building equipment and systems.

You will be ready to work in a wide range of employment areas, including mining and mineral processing, manufacturing, aviation, automotive, shipbuilding, road and rail transport, defence, agriculture, fishing and food processing.
